----Wow, finally someone understands....No, government cannot increase anyone's standard of living. Did I hear someone say "Minimum wage increase?" Nope that will not increase anyone's standard of living. Nine times out of ten it puts teenagers out of work and forces more work upon unskilled laborers who do not get a pay increase because they already make slightly above minimum wage. "Social Security" you say? Again, no. When was the last time someone on social security alone went from poverty to middle class? Doesn't happen. "Welfare Programs" you say? Nope. Most people on welfare programs in poverty stay there. You know how they get out of poverty? They find a job.
Lets face it, the only way you can increase your standard of living is by yourself. It is up to you.
